About Yogafinity classes
Yogafinity Flow classes are in the style of Vinyasa yoga where movement and breath combine in fluid sequences. They include activations to build strength and flexibility for yoga postures in a sustainable and effective way; as well as flowing dynamic sequences to energise and lift the spirit. There is a focus on understanding how to engage and align the body, aiming always to embody 'effort and ease'.
Yoga for Health & Wellbeing classes are less dynamic than the Flow classes and we spend more time in static poses. They are therefore ideal if you are newer to yoga, enjoy moving at a slower pace or have less range of movement. They are intended to ease the joints, improve mobility and help keep you healthy and well - whatever season of life you are in.
Sian did ballet and gymnastics throughout her childhood and teens, competing regionally and nationally in gymnastics and achieving Senior Honours in ballet. She first tried yoga at the age of 21, spent many years enjoying Body Balance and later discovered Sun Power Yoga. A demanding career in Marketing and illness in her late 20's led her away from the mat for a while but she found her way back after the birth of her two children - firstly to Pilates and then to Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, doing her 200hr teaching training in 2018.
Sian takes inspiration from Vinyasa and Forrest yoga, her dance & gymnastics background and the teachings of anatomy & bio-mechanic experts. She is fascinated in the connection between the mind and the body. Sian's 200 hr YTT included teaching by former principal ballerina and international yogini Ambra Vallo. She has undertaken additional formal training in whole body strength & mobility and modern Vinyasa with world-renowned Vinyasa yoga teacher Jason Crandell, sequencing with Jason and with Adam Husler; and applied anatomy with Dr Yogi. In February 2024 Sian also became accredited as a breath work and meditation teacher after completing the 100 hours Just Breathe level 1 training with global teacher Michael James Wong. Sian's principal teacher and spiritual guide is the magical Jambo Truong.
Sian has worked with Birmingham and West Midlands Ladies Football Club and taught yoga online to the elite gymnastics squad in Victoria, Australia. She has taught yoga to primary school children and young adults in sixth form, to large corporate organisations and charities, as well as for gyms and studios. Her current local teaching schedule is in Mere Green, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield and Aldridge.
An English Literature graduate from the University of Exeter with a love of writing and communications, Sian seeks to use clear, precise and inspiring language in her teachings. Her guiding principles are moving and living with energy, strength and grace.
Sian is fully insured, DBS checked and trained in emergency first aid.
Sian's mantra is 'Shine Your Light', she believes everyone should be able to live life to their infinite potential and, in her own experience, yoga helps her to do that.
